The project consists of objects of various shapes, the frame of which is crocheted from wire. The wire forms intertwined structures with dried flowers inside.

The light that creates shadows emphasizes the temporal nature of our world, filled with a flood of information and impressions.

The work emphasizes beauty and meaning even in moments of fading and silence.

Memory does not exist in isolation, but is part of a larger, interconnected whole.

In the hustle and bustle of everyday life, it is important to be able to find and appreciate the quiet and peaceful moments that often escape our attention.

The work “Balancer” was created for the laboratory “Worker’s Paradise” together with the artist Vera Sanina-Gvozdikova

Exploring the everyday life of the Tbilisi neighborhoods where we have been living since the beginning of 2024, we analyzed the streets closest to our homes. During our walks we focused on the game “Find the combination of wall-window-plant elements”. These elements became metaphors for the sustainability and renewal of the urban environment, the intertwining of natural and anthropogenic factors.

The plant, the wall and the window are considered as elements of sympathetic connection according to Timothy Morton’s concept, where all beings and objects are interconnected, forming a grid without a central element. We also drew on studies of the poetics of space by Gaston Bachelard, who emphasized the influence of dreams and memories on the perception of space.

We developed the ability to see beauty and depth in the everyday, analyzed perception and reflected on sustainability and renewal of the urban environment. Based on the results of walks and photofixation in Google Maps, we analyzed metaphorical elements and their location, creating a wire object as a reminder.

Repetitive routes can lead to “blindness” to space, but also provide an opportunity to notice sustainability and renewal. We have developed a walking-practice method that is applicable to other parts of the city.

The chosen medium (mobile) allows for the replacement of elements, emphasizing ideas of sustainability and renewal. The work emphasizes the beauty and significance of each moment, even in fading and silence, as part of a larger interconnected whole.
