The installation “Threads” was created in 2023 as part of the project “February”, which aimed to comprehend and reflect on the year of war.
Dimensions of the installation: 30×40×40cm, materials: wire, threads, cardboard and frame.
I invited visitors to the exhibition to write down everything that burdened them during the year of war (thoughts, emotions, fears, observations). The notes on strips of paper were attached to red threads.
White hands symbolize neutrality and peace; red threads: loss and pain. The threads also show the connection between people who have become united in their experiences.
The purpose of the installation was to connect people to each other through reflection on their experiences; to create solidarity and spiritual unity among people living through difficult times; to help express their feelings and thoughts in a safe and supportive environment.
