Project of Particles group, curator Mariya Kutuzova.
This two-day event focuses on the notion of boundaries — from personal to collective, from everyday to poetic, from internal to external. The project explores how these boundaries affect the way we perceive and interact with the world.
The venue itself, the once-vibrant 1980s Vesna restaurant, now abandoned, is a prime example of change and adaptation. Local residents who have transformed the ruins into a venue for community events such as games and social gatherings emphasize the resilience and creativity of communities in reclaiming the space.
The exhibition featured works by artists from different countries working in various techniques such as painting, sculpture, photography, art objects and installations. The artists offered their views on the theme of borders, interacting with space and its history to conceptualize contemporary issues and the passage of time.
The project not only addresses the concept of physical and metaphorical boundaries, but also emphasizes the constant dialogue between past and present, art and environment. This dialogue emphasizes the complex interplay of memory, identity and ever-changing human connections.
