A joint project of Maria Kutuzova and Vera Sanina-Gvozdikova.
Trying to know the world in all its complexity, we try to visualize the external at least for a moment, capturing individual natural and cultural elements, as well as images of other people as a combination of both. The mirrored “surfaces” of our souls are also not devoid of natural framing, and the combination of different components (purely human and natural) is a mystery to ourselves. Man does not stop at a simple reflection of the external world.
We release the “mirrored” (seen and felt) back and catch a new reflection again, of which we are already a part, trying to understand ourselves and our place in the world. In the living environment, such interaction is not reduced to simple recursion, endless senseless replication of the self and mindless fixation of the external, but leads to the emergence of something new, unique for a particular “I” — light reflections, individual refractions of external conditions.
Art-object: 2 human figures, whose surface is composed of mirror shards and various natural objects. The figures are suspended above the water surface. The project was created and shown once for the Red Biennale 2023 and is part of the “We” project.
It is in the private collection of Nikolay Evbokimov
